Continuing to begin
it's out of synch
the time it takes to begin and the time is takes
for the word to reach my fingertips
and what's left at their end
is what has already happened, stopped
and must now be restarted
gone are the days too when you could count
on strangers stopping
a set of jumpers under the backseat
and the free time to give you that jump
you need to get going
or the push down the hill
hope you know how to use a clutch
the time it takes to begin and the time is takes
for the word to reach my fingertips
and what's left at their end
is what has already happened, stopped
and must now be restarted

on strangers stopping

Thinking of deleting my blog
rather than starting again, but
I have decided it makes more sense
to restart and take a new view
of time
than to stop what might only appear
to have stopped on its own.
If you're going to leave a car idle
for a long time
then disconnect the battery cables
or the battery will die.
I learned that the last time.
